Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago (MDA) recognizes that with modern healthcare comes modern frustrations and is looking to leverage today’s technology to bring an “old-fashioned” experience with a doctor. With an emphasis on education, MDA focuses on the best evidence and aims to provide the highest level of care.
Helios completed the new medical office space and healthcare practice buildout in a vacant lofted River North building under extensive concurrent rehabilitation by the landlord. As the first tenant to occupy the building, MDA and Helios collaborated with the landlord for core and shell infrastructure upgrades required for new occupancy. With multiple doctors starting a new joint practice, the interests and constraints of all stakeholders had to be considered. Work included new MEP systems, office, exam, and shared spaces. Extensive custom millwork and metals, clean finishes, and the coordination of owner-contracted vendors rounded out this adaptive reuse of a former factory building.
As the medical practice has grown, Helios and MDA have continued their strong relationship by completing multiple upgrades to the space.
