Demeter Millwork was founded in 2010 to provide custom quality millwork focusing on sustainable design and construction. Today, Demeter fabricates millwork for a variety of clientele in Chicago and throughout the US.
Helios provided construction management services at 2135 West Carroll, a 25,000 SF building in Chicago’s Near West Side. The space was originally used as a steel foundry but has been transformed into the new home of Demeter Millwork. The building was sandblasted from top to bottom, received a new electrical service and loading dock, and expanded the production/storage space and office space.
We implemented a new energy-efficient lighting control system, LED fixtures, skylights, and new windows to increase natural light usage. The entire building received a new roof and new concrete slabs, which were then polished. The renovated space provides Demeter Millwork with room to increase efficiency and expand its business in the years to come. Further updates in 2020 were completed to the building, including millwork facade repair, electrical updates, and a new security gate.
