Take Flight Spirits is a family-owned craft distillery specializing in small-batch distillations that bring imaginative twists on classic spirits. As first-time professional distillers, the owners valued a community-focused and welcoming location in downtown Skokie, IL, where they wanted to transform an old flower shop into a distillery pub.
Helios first partnered with Take Flight Spirits and SPACE Architects + Planners to provide preconstruction services during site selection. We prepared budgetary pricing, engaged trade contractors to review design documents, and guided the client on the constructability, costs, construction duration, procurement schedules, and more related to their project. In phase two, we provided construction management services on the buildout of their distillery and taproom. Our team completed a complete gut rehab, including new electrical, HVAC, and updated plumbing. The space features an inviting lounge, a central bar with ledge space, a distillery production room, and restrooms.
