Demeter Millwork was founded in 2010 to provide custom quality millwork focusing on sustainable design and construction. Today, Demeter fabricates millwork for various clientele in Chicago and throughout the U.S.
Helios provided construction management services at 2135 West Carroll, a 25,000 SF building in Chicago’s Near West Side. Originally used as a steel foundry, we transformed the space into the new home of Demeter Millwork. We sandblasted the building from top to bottom, installed a new electrical service and loading dock, and expanded the production/storage space and office space.
We implemented a new energy-efficient lighting control system, LED fixtures, skylights, and new windows to increase natural light usage. The entire building also received and polished a new roof and concrete slabs. Helios completed further updates to the building in 2020, including millwork facade repair, electrical updates, and a new security gate. The renovated space provides Demeter Millwork with room to increase efficiency and expand its business in the years to come.
