Tortello is a charming neighborhood pasta restaurant located in Chicago’s Wicker Park. Inspired by the owner’s childhood and Italian family heritage, Tortello dishes up beautiful, handcrafted pasta and unique accompaniments.

Helios teamed up with Tortello to bring their fresh handmade pasta restaurant to Wicker Park. Originally utilized as office space, we transformed the building into a restaurant with a full chef’s kitchen. The project consisted of complete interior demolition, new MEP systems to accommodate the new kitchen, two new restrooms, custom banquette seating, a working surface for pasta making that serves as a window display, and a custom tilting mirror to provide views of the pasta-making process. Modifications to the existing structure were required to support the new kitchen hood, custom hanging pasta display mirror, and added rooftop equipment. The existing slab on grade needed extensive floor prep for the large format checkered floor tile selected.
